Major Description

Study of anatomy, physiology, chemistry, and nutrition promotes a comprehensive framework for analyzing human health and disease. Exploration in the social/behavioral sciences, including psychology and sociology, emphasizes theories of human behavior, lifespan development, and sociocultural considerations. The examination of ethics, research methods, and collaborative interprofessional practice reveals the complex and dynamic nature of health and healthcare delivery. The curriculum is anchored in the Westbrook College of Health Professions Common Curriculum, providing students opportunities to engage in the liberal arts and science. Completion of this degree does not lead to licensure in any health discipline or field, and provides an excellent foundation for advanced study in the health professions.
