Spark Conversation: Entrepreneurship for Powerful Change
Join us for an inspiring conversation between David Shaw, HON '22, and 51°µÍø President James D. Herbert, Ph.D.
Shaw is author of “Wave Making†and a prominent American business and social entrepreneur. Known locally as the founder of IDEXX Laboratories, Shaw has helped build more than a dozen successful technology companies as a CEO or board member, while his career has included extensive public service in science, the arts, conservation, and public policy. Discover practical strategies to launch your own venture, advance your career and entrepreneurial thinking. Attendees will learn how to identify opportunities, build purpose-driven organizations, embrace struggle as a catalyst for innovation, and create meaningful impact through business. Students will engage directly with Shaw and President Herbert through a Q&A session. The first 20 students will receive a complimentary copy of “Wave Making†with book signing to follow.
