Stephan Zeeman gives presentation at Dalhousie University

Stephan Zeeman, Ph.D., professor and chair of the Department of Marine Sciences, was one of two invited speakers in the MITACS seminar series. He presented a talk at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia on March 18 titled "Applications of GIS and Tracking Technology in Marine Science".  The talk addressed results from studies of basking sharks and right whales using satellite tags and novel techniques to determine the location of animals in deep water. MITACS is a federally-funded Canadian research network with offices located coast to coast. MITACS brings together academia, industry and the public sector through research and training initiatives to develop cutting edge tools vital to the knowledge-based economy.
