Newspapers cover lectures by Fulbright Scholar Helida Oyieke

The   (Lewiston) and (Waterville) ran stories on March 17, 2011 on Dr. Helida Oyieke, a Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence at University of New England, who presented several talks on the University of Maine - Farmington campus. Oyieke spoke on “Women in Development and Environment: African Perspectives” and “Biodiversity: Kenya’s Rich Heritage and Its Conservation” on March 17th and 18th. 

An internationally-recognized expert in environmental studies and marine botany, Oyieke is currently director of research and scientific affairs at the National Museums of Kenya in Nairobi, where she oversees research and collection programs for the institution.
