WMTW online posts news of harbor seal pup release

"Runt," found as a one-month premature pup, was one of five harbor seals released back into the ocean by 51-MARC on August 1st.

WMTW Channel 8 online posted news of the release of five harbor seals by 51’s Marine Animal Rehabilitation Center (MARC) on August 1, 2013.

The seals were all found stranded on Maine beaches as maternally-dependent pups suffering from a variety of maladies, including dehydration, exhaustion, and respiratory infection.

One pup, the aptly named “Runt,” was a month premature.  Another, “Laffy Taffy,” received treatments at MARC for neurological issues.
