Joanne E. Thompson, Ph.D.
Location
Joanne is an Assistant Director of Graduate and Professional Student Success in the Office of Interventions and Student Success. With over 25 years of experience in higher education, she provides students with effective strategies and tools for time and task management, organization, studying, test preparation, and test-taking through both in-person and online meetings. She is based on the 51°µÍø Portland Campus for the Health Sciences and also works with students enrolled in the College of Professional Studies.
In addition to guiding students individually, Joanne collaborates with faculty and teaches workshops on such topics as metacognition, active learning and long-term memory, backward design for licensure exam success, and the habits of mind of the lifelong learner. She has worked with numerous students over the years as a successful executive function coach and welcomes supporting a range of learning profiles.
