Preparing for Success

New Student Orientation at 51°µÍø prepares incoming students for academic and co-curricular success, through a holistic and ongoing process throughout the first-year experience. Student leaders, faculty, and professional staff partner to ensure a welcoming, informative, and enjoyable experience for students and their families, through which they will make meaningful connections and become integrated into our University's particular intellectual, social, and cultural climate.

New Student Orientation also provides a shared experience for all new students, while allowing each student to make the experience personal based on his or her needs, wants, and goals as they transition to our University.

At Orientation you will:

  • Meet with academic advisors
  • Learn about University services
  • Make connections and socialize with other incoming 51°µÍø students, current 51°µÍø students, and professional staff
  • Become familiar with our beautiful, ocean-front campus
  • Become immersed in the intellectual, social, and cultural climate of 51°µÍø
  • Learn what it means to be a Nor'easter
