About Our Trustee Student Liaisons

The current presidents of the Graduate and Professional Student Association (GAPSA) and the Undergraduate Student Government (USG), as selected by their peers, serve as Trustee Student Liaisons for the University.

As part of this leadership opportunity, Trustee Student Liaisons attend all regular meetings of the Board of Trustees’ Academic, Research, and Student Affairs Committee. In this capacity, they bring the student perspective to committee deliberations by gathering information and feedback from their respective constituencies, work collaboratively with one another and with University stakeholders, assist in communicating Board actions to the student body, and foster community across colleges and campuses in collaboration with the University’s student government organizations.

The liaisons also serve as co-chairs of the Representatives Council, which is comprised of the president and vice president of the two student government organizations. The Representatives Council works collaboratively to support student interests and to identify, address, and resolve issues that impact all students.

In fulfilling their leadership responsibilities, Trustee Student Liaisons and the Representatives Council are guided and supported by University administrators and student government advisors.
